How we help

An Alliance with our clients

Our export marketing services fall into three main areas:

1.  Support and streamlining for existing export activities and new markets

Companies who have made a planned move into export often reach a point where the complexity of dealing with different markets, different trading arrangements and different languages is de-focussing them from their real business.
UKEMA can work with your established business in-country to ensure that it continues to trade effectively and respond to local market conditions.  Often working as an extended member of your in-house team, we also look to create efficiencies on a multi-country level so that materials and best practise can be standardised as far as possible to reduce costs and expedite timescales.  In short, we deliver a highly personalised, efficient and creative service that grows as our clients’ international business grows.

2.  Market assessment & recommendation – for new markets

In our opinion, this is a short but vital phase in a company’s decision to export to a new country market.  UKEMA can quickly help your business establish the likely demand for your products and services there, competitors, pricing, routes to market and business and sector trends in the local economy.
The result is a recommendation to proceed, gather further information or to consider an alternative country market.  If our recommendation is to proceed, we will also be able to recommend the most effective way for your business to start trading in that country (direct, in partnership, through a distributor, by franchise etc) and assist you in selection processes.

3.  Implementation – for existing and new export activities

Following a market assessment, UKEMA’s role  then focuses on getting results through hands-on practical support including:

  • Introductions to business contacts/influencers/organisations, eg – trade organisations, British embassy, solicitors, distributors/partners, customers/pilot customers, etc
  • Assisting in discussions and negotiations.
  • Leveraging the company’s existing materials cost effectively for the local market.
  • Planning the launch/opening of the company in the country/countries and assisting with PR/communications where required.

Simple ideas can make a big difference here.  For example, it may be much more cost effective to produce a training video than produce an instruction manual in 8 different languages.  Appointing a distributor in-country may be a more cost effective way to expand your operations abroad then setting up your own offices.  Our export experience saves you valuable time and money – so you can get on with running your business.

The UK Export Marketing Alliance delivers an intelligent approach to the local market.
